DOCUMEN-TATION
- put the console together
- use the app which is connected to the device
- take it apart again after using it
FEEDBACK
- make smaller steps
- focus more on
- test if the interface works
- you can focus on one part of the testing: for example only the app and not the console

DOCUMEN-
TATION
- When would you use this device?
- Is there anything this tool resembles? If yes, what?
- Does something about this device not make sense to you?
- Was there anything you expected to find, which wasn't there?
- What was difficult or strange about the tasks?
- Was something unnecessary in your opinion

Question that I ask myself:
- Do I need to guide them step by step? Or do I let the tester try to use it in their own way and when they don't know how to continue, I will explain what the next step could be?
- adobe XD for the app
- I'm planning on building a prototype of the device, with some kind of elastic material
- someone's home
- public location for example at the school
- awesome space

- retro gamers, gamers who enjoy playing older games/ games they played when they were little
people from age 20 until 50
- take a video of it: real life or from a distance in a video call

- record the meeting on Zoom
- from our own homes

- 5 retro gamers, who are members of the Awesome Space
- Adobe XD

TESTING
ROUND 1
How it went:
- he accomplished every task successfully

My conclusion:
- I had some technical issues, I'll have to connect everything better on adobe XD so that this doesn't happen again
- explained too much and I have to let the tester explain what they see instead of explaining everything
- I also need to improve the design so that I won't have to explain as much as I did in the first round
- I noticed that the app is more designed as a game that works with the screen of the phone, which is not what I intended to do, which is why I want to change the buttons into buttons that you would press on your console

ROUND 2
How it went:
- the beginning went well, the tester managed to do every task before the functions page
- when I started with the second part (with the functions), the tester was confused about what the 'rounds' page was and what it wanted to display
- he associated the little plusses with an addition and he assumed that you could add the three numbers
- the 'selected game' page was understandable, except for the 'round' box

His first impressions:
- interesting player aspect and the console which is attached to a device

My conclusion:
- I need to change the title of the page, called 'rounds' because the page shows all the three functions and not only the rounds one
ROUND 3
How it went:
- I had to explain the 'functions' page to make it understandable for the user
- He pointed out to me an error: the giving and taking screen: there were 3 players you could give a coin to, even though the game is only for 3 players, including yourself

His first impressions:
- neat console design
- needs more explanations for the choosing of a function + in the beginning of the app
- the user would dislike the mix between using the touch screen and using the buttons of the console
- unspoken role in the gaming world: it's important to keep the buttons for the same functions: for example, the 'A' button always means going forward, the 'B' buttons always means going back

My conclusion:
- the functions page i still confusing, even after I changed the design and added information: I need to add an explanation page at the beginning of the page to add context and make it more understandable
- specify that it doesn't matter which colour/function you choose, the user is free to choose any as long as each player has a different one
- the design doesn't make it clear that the app only works by using the console
- I need to define what each button means and can do
ROUND 4
How it went:
- the user didn't understand that you can only choose one function and the other players will choose the other two functions

My conclusion:
- add text to make it more understandable
ROUND 5
How it went:
- 'this time it's an 'A button' instead of a back button': the buttons always have to do the same actions
- the user understood the different functions
- the 'selected game' page was clear and understandable

First impressions:
- the insert a coin, reminded him of arcade games
- interesting concept
- 'feels like getting three people together to play the game might be hard, but if it works and you can find a group to play with it might be fun'
- the app is pretty straight forward and clear
My conclusion:
- again, it wasn't clear that you could only use the console and not the screen
